Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking an Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our team in a full time position to work within the division of Pediatric Cardiology.

• Location: 1111 Westchester Ave., White Plains, NY
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Perform and evaluate exercise studies in accordance with current standards.
• Assess a patient's medical history and fitness level.
• Ability to take manual blood pressures.
• Perform basic interpretation of electrocardiogram.
• Prepare medical necessity reports.
• Coordinate with the interpreting physician for results.
• Work with the clinical team and scheduling personnel to accurately and appropriately order exercise studies.
• Responsible for working with administrative staff about communication for appropriate patient preparation.
• Responsible for laboratory compliance with all NYS and NYC codes and meeting all the standards of the ACC, ACSM, AHA position papers on Cardiopulmonary Exercise testing in the pediatric and adolescents age groups.
• Maintain quality control of equipment.
• Participate in research studies.
• Data entry in Excel Worksheets.
• Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus three years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Exercise Science / Physiology / Applied Physiology / Kinesiology.
• Certifications: ACSM certified clinical exercise physiologist and Basic Life Support.
• Within the first six months of work, the candidate must acquire the following certifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training
  • Pediatric Life Support Training
• Experience working with children.
• Experience with physiological measurements in children and young adults with various medical conditions.
