The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Office of Development (VP&S OOD), a part of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), is dedicated to facilitating relationships that support the vision and mission of CUIMC and VP&S: to transform health by driving discovery, advancing care, and educating leaders.
Position Summary
The Development Associate (DA) plays a critical administrative role for the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team. In addition to maintaining efficient operating systems, the DA will support donor prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for the CFR team. The DA will report to the Executive Director (ED) of CFR and proactively support the ED’s needs. The DA will be responsible for managing the ED’s calendar, coordinating meetings (including notification to participants, preparing agendas, recording minutes, etc.); writing and coordinating production of donor reports, preparing solicitation and special acknowledgment letters; drafting own correspondence for review by Executive Director; processing gift transmittals; and assisting with prospect research and proposal development. The incumbent will coordinate and manage database entry and maintain donor and prospect lists including assurance of data base accuracy; maintain files and database portfolio; interact with internal and external constituencies; troubleshoot when necessary; and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required, plus three years of related experience.
