Position Summary

The Columbia Climate School  is seeking a Columbia University student casual to support the Communications and Events team on a temporary 20-week assignment (approximately 400 hours total). This role will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile events and special projects, including the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory Open House, NYC Climate Week, COP, and AGU Annual Meeting.


Responsibilities

  • Project coordination and tracking
  • Event logistics support
  • Communications and scheduling assistance,
  • Managing timelines and materials
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
  • providing on-site event support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience supporting events, communications, higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is preferred. Strong written communication and project management skills are required. 
  • must be able to work Saturday October 17. 2026
