The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Director, Special Projects, the Coordinator, Special Projects supports the administrative and operational efforts related to the Columbia Business School Board.

The Coordinator, Special Projects, will have the opportunity to work with a distinguished group of business leaders who are committed to the mission of the School. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of the CBS Board. This individual will meet the core and partnership values of teamwork, integrity, accountability, and respect.

Responsibilities

Board Meeting Coordination

  • Coordinate Board meeting logistics, including scheduling and venue arrangements.
  • Prepare drafts of meeting agendas, minutes, and supporting documents.
  • Manage meeting attendance.

Task Force Support

  • Schedule task force meetings, prepare draft agendas, and distribute materials.
  • Track task force activities to help ensure timely completion of tasks.

Board Communications

  • Maintain Board contact information and Board directory and ensure timely updates.
  • Draft Board member onboarding and orientation materials.

Special Projects

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to the Board's activities.
  • Conduct research and gather information as needed.

Administrative Tasks

  • Maintain Board records and files.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn MS Office and Google products.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Positive and helpful attitude.
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends for Board-related events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of non-profit or for-profit administration, or higher education administration experience.
  • Familiarity with Columbia University or Columbia Business School.
