The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, MS Career Management, within the School’s Career Management Center (CM), the Associate Director, MS Career Management, provides career education programming, student advising, and administration for three specialized Master of Science (MS) programs and will also collaborate with CMC team members to support them. This individual will serve as a key liaison to MS Financial Economics, Accounting & Fundamental Analysis, and Marketing Science students while partnering with the Senior Associate Director to improve communication and enhance career programs. Additionally, the Associate Director will support business development efforts by engaging with recruiters and external constituents and sourcing new employer relationships in collaboration with the Employer Relations team. Given the current highly international MS talent pool, the Associate Director will seek to identify areas where programming and content for MS students may align with that for international MBAs.

Responsibilities

Coaching and Advising

  • Collaboratively manages career education and advising resources for the MS student population.

  • Partners with Career Education and Advising colleagues to provide individual and group advising, career workshops, and job search strategy sessions for MS students. 

  • Prepares presentation/program materials, including PowerPoint slides and other collateral while adapting content and formats to improve engagement and impact. 

Program Oversight and Management

  • Manages and updates the comprehensive online MS Careers course curriculum on Canvas, from the pre-matriculation rollout of foundational career education modules to developing and refining content throughout the year. 

  • Partners with MBA International Student advisors to identify shared cross-cultural communication needs of both MBA and MS students, supporting relevant programming. 

  • Assists in ongoing CM strategic and operational support, including full-time MBA and Experienced Professionals Career Management team support, planning sessions, workshop delivery, and on-campus recruiting process.

Program Development and Event Planning

  • Collaborates with Senior Associate Director, MS Career Management, MS faculty, and program administrators to ensure cohesive delivery of career resources within MS program administration. Assesses expansion or changes to MS program, partnering with the Senior Associate Director, Admissions, and faculty to define student profiles, target employers, and resource needs for advising and business development.

  • Supports corporate outreach and program/event execution, including market-facing career events, workshops, webinars, panels, speaker series, and recruiting-related programs. 

  • Attends and participates in event delivery in collaboration with  CM team members.

Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Develops and implements an external business development strategy for assigned MS populations with the Senior  Associate Director, Employer Relations team, and faculty directors to cultivate MS-specific employer relationships. 

  • Leverages faculty, alumni, and recruiter relationships for enhanced job postings and employer engagement. 

  • Maintains contact databases and email marketing programs for employer outreach.

  • Independently cultivates relationships with MS alumni to source panelists for industry sessions while leveraging engagement for employer referrals.

  • Builds strong working relationships with MS students, the CM team, MS program administration, Admissions, and other University departments to ensure seamless integration of CM programming with MS offerings. 

Data and Administration

  • Manages and/or support projects including, but not limited to, production of MS resume books/databases, administration of on-campus recruiting qualification process, and online data updates for MS students. 

  • Coordinates departmental calendars and resource procurement.

  • Engages proactively with MS students to track internship and job search status, collaborating with CM team members to achieve timely and accurate MS employment reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

  • Minimum 3-4 years of related experience required. 

  • Strong program and project management skills with demonstrated experience in relationship development and management. 

  • Ability to excel in a high-volume environment. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Strong professional demeanor, customer service orientation, and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.  

  • Ability to balance independent work with a collaborative approach.

  • Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex situations with diplomacy.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation abilities.  

  • Ability to work early mornings on a seasonal basis and some evenings.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in workshop facilitation and Master’s level advising.

  • International experience or experience working with a diverse, global student population is preferred. 

  • Familiarity with business environments and communication with executive-level professionals. 

  • Prior professional experience in a highly analytical or quantitative role in financial services or marketing is a strong asset.
