The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Office of Development (VP&S OOD), a part of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), is dedicated to facilitating relationships that support the vision and mission of CUIMC and VP&S: to transform health by driving discovery, advancing care, and educating leaders.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development will join the VP&S OOD as an essential member of a large fundraising team and will manage multi-level assignments that advance fundraising and donor relations goals. The incumbent will assist the Senior Director of Development (SDOD) in providing high-level support to the Board of Advisors and other key VP&S leadership, including the Board Chair and other board members, the Vice President (VP) for Development, and Dean of VP&S. This includes coordinating materials, programming, communications, and meeting logistics for the VP&S Board of Advisors. In addition, the Associate Director will staff the Senior Director on fundraising projects for key priority areas as defined by the Dean and VP&S leadership, working closely with faculty and other stakeholders.
The Associate Director will partner with colleagues in coordinating and implementing activities to engage new supporters and steward current donors, such as panel discussions, cultivation dinners, impact reports, and fundraising events, including the annual Crown Awards Gala celebrating our partners in philanthropy.
Additionally, the incumbent will also have responsibilities supporting the SDOD and VP with moves management and tracking processes for principal gift donors and prospects. These responsibilities include assisting with preparation of meeting materials, correspondence, reports, as well as database management and coordinating follow-up next steps.
