Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Executive Education and Non-Degree Programs at the Columbia Climate School, the incumbent will supervise the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of open-enrollment non-degree programs for the Columbia Climate School.
The Assistant Director of Open Enrollment Programs will lead the development of resources for pedagogy and effective communication practices for Executive Education and Non-Degree programs and teaching staff. The incumbent will also establish working relationships through the design and implementation of teaching development orientations, institutes, workshops, and other programming informed by the scholarship of teaching and learning. The incumbent will also work with internal Columbia Climate School and broader Columbia University partners (Academic Affairs, Provost Office, etc.) to secure and ensure compliance with accreditation of programs where appropriate, and to support overall recruitment, enrollment, and evaluation of open-enrollment programs.
The incumbent will also support the strategic analysis of prospective programs and support budgeting and fiscal monitoring of open-enrollment programs.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with curriculum development, training, and evaluation.
Proficiency with training programs such as PowerPoint and Articulate.
Experience in disaster recovery.
An advanced degree in Education, Instructional Design, Social Sciences, Psychology, or other related disciplines is strongly desired.
Other Requirements
Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Fiscal management experience with training programs is required.
The incumbent will have knowledge and experience with climate-related training, instructional systems design.
Additionally, strong writing, communication, and instructional skills are essential, along with the capacity to initiate and effectively follow through on project activities.
Experience coordinating among internal and external stakeholders is highly desired.
