The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Assistant Director will play a critical role in supporting the Career Management Center’s (CMC) overall employer relations function. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with recruiters at leading global employers and supporting students’ career success.  This position directly contributes to student career success by serving as a relationship manager for a portfolio of top-tier employers, providing support to enhance recruiting strategies, and ensuring a high-quality experience for both students and corporate partners.

Responsibilities

Relationship Management & Employer Engagement

  • Serves as a primary relationship manager to many of our top-tier employer partners, maintaining and deepening our existing partnerships to enhance the hiring outcomes and employer perception. Employer sectors will include consulting, consumer and retail, and other sectors as business needs dictate.
  • Conducts regular outreach, meetings, and postseason reviews with employer partners to gather feedback, share best practices, and inform future recruiting strategies.
  • Provides consultative support to employers, ensuring an exceptional recruiting experience and effective engagement with CBS talent.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Leads the planning, booking, and execution of on-campus and virtual recruiting events, including interviews, information sessions, and industry panels.
  • Coordinates logistics and manages all event details with precision, ensuring a seamless experience for employers and students.
  • Collaborates with CMC colleagues to support events such as Recruiters’ Day and career forums.

Student & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaises with students regarding recruiting processes, interview schedules, and employer expectations; resolves conflicts and accommodates special needs as necessary.
  • Partners with CMC advisors and student clubs to align employer engagement with student interests and emerging industry trends.
  • Attends on-campus conferences, networking events, and occasional business development meetings.

Technology & Data Management

  • Manage and optimize CMC Technology platforms such as LinkedIn and CRM tools for student engagement and employer tracking.
  • Stay current on industry trends and data, job market developments, and best practices in employer relations.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer interactions and recruiting activities.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience in employer relations, recruiting, career services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated passion for relationship management and supporting student career outcomes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional acumen and strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with senior corporate partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Proactive, customer-service oriented, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak recruiting seasons.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting or other relevant industries.
  • Prior experience with campus recruiting (university or employer side) and understanding of the MBA job market.
