Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Career Education and Advising, the Associate Director, Career Content is an innovative and execution-oriented professional responsible for co-designing, co-building, and scaling edtech tools and online video resources related to the job search experience. Working within the strategy and priorities set by the Director, the Associate Director applies independent judgment to design, produce, and continuously improve career education content and digital resources across webinar, workshop, and short-form video formats.

The incumbent collaborates with colleagues across Programs, Centers, academic departments, and Marketing and Communications to source data and feedback, refine tool performance, and align messaging to the School's brand. The Associate Director produces high-impact career education materials, manages several concurrent projects with competing timelines and deliverables, and contributes to workflow formulation and the adoption of best practices that keep the team's content current, usable, and aligned to institutional standards.

Responsibilities

Career Education & Program Delivery

  • In partnership with the Director, Career Education and Advising, develop and deliver career education and professional development programs — presentations, speaker series, panels, company visits, and networking events — across webinar, workshop, and short-form video formats.

  • Produce and update storyboards, scripts, and high-impact career education materials, applying independent judgment within editorial direction set with the Director.

  • Manage several concurrent projects, such as resume book production, on-campus recruiting qualification processes, and updates to online student resources.

  • Represent the Career Management Center at drop-in career sessions, lobby hours, and related initiatives.

Emerging Technology Integration

  • Ownership and oversight of CMC’s online learning platform, Canvas. Responsible for reviewing, refreshing and creating content on the platform throughout the academic year. 

  • In partnership with the Director, evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., large language models) and recommend integration approaches to CMC leadership; implement adopted tools under the direction of the Director of Career Education and Advising.

  • Partner with the Director and team to develop tech-enabled tools supporting students and alumni in career exploration, resume and cover letter optimization, networking, and interview preparation and independently develop and refine those tools through launch. 

  • Create training materials and workshops helping students and alumni leverage tech-enabled tools in their job search.

  • In partnership with the Director, develops training materials for career advisors to enhance advising effectiveness through AI-assisted tools. 

  • Partner with internal colleagues to align to CU governance frameworks ensuring responsible, ethical, and privacy-conscious tech-tool implementation.

Data, Assessment & Outcomes

  • Source data, student feedback, and insights from academic colleagues, Programs, and Centers to continuously improve tool performance and usability.

  • Tracks job-seeking outcomes, analyzes trends and patterns among candidates seeking a job change, and presents findings to business school stakeholders 

  • Analyze engagement metrics (views, completion rates, retention) to continuously refine content quality and delivery format.

Messaging & Communications

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and communications teams to align messaging with institutional brand standards.

  • Provide marketing content to internal marketing team highlighting programs, job opportunities, career research, and best practices.

  • Other duties as assigned or required 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years of related experience required.

  • Demonstrated experience designing or building edtech tools, online learning resources, or digital content, ideally in a higher education or professional development setting.

  • Hands-on experience working with tech-enabled technologies (e.g., large language models, prompt design, automation tools, analytics systems) and the ability to translate user needs into practical tech solutions.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, competing deadlines, and conflicting deliverables.

  • Ability to translate user needs into tech solutions.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Self-starter who exercises independent judgment, takes ownership of execution, and works effectively both independently and across teams in a large organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of career management, Masters level careers experience preferred.

  • Experience in higher education, especially Masters level programs.

  • Familiarity with recruiting technology platforms and applicant tracking systems.

  • Experience implementing responsible governance frameworks.
