Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Contracts (the “Director”) of the Clinical Trials Office (the “CTO”) of Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons (“VP&S”). The Senior Contract Specialist will administer agreements (such as clinical trials, research services, and confidentiality agreements) from inception through termination, which includes, but is not limited to, negotiation, providing consultation & advice, which will best meet the needs of the research community at VP&S. One of the main objectives of this position is to have the necessary skill set to support the contracting processes.
The CTO assists investigators and academic/research staff in developing clinical trials at VP&S and provides administrative resources and infrastructure to build and sustain clinical trials and clinical research at VP&S. The successful candidate will work with Sponsors in negotiating contracts for clinical trials in accordance with all applicable regulatory and legal requirements and institutional policies and procedures.

Act as part of the Contracts Team, to independently manage various agreement types from initiation to completion in a timely, efficient, and thorough manner. Partners with Licensing Officers to ensure proper execution of agreements. The Senior Contracts Officers will report to the AVP & Senior Director of Contracts and Compliance for CTV, as well as work closely with the Senior Director, Agreement Review and Execution of Contracts & Compliance and members of the Contracts team, and will receive ongoing coaching in contract interpretation and negotiation. | Recruitment Application Specialist | Columbia University Medical Center | Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Regulatory Science (the " Associate Director") of the Clinical Trials Office (the "CTO") of Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons ("VP&S") at Columbia University Irving Medical Center ("CUIMC"), the Recruitment Application Specialist assists the Associate Director in overseeing CTO's clinical research subject recruitment application (“RecruitMe”) and other research applications. The clinical research subject recruitment application is a collaboration between the CTO and the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (the “CTSA”). The CTO assists investigators and academic/research staff in developing clinical trials at VP&S and provides administrative resources and infrastructure to build and sustain clinical trials research at VP&S. The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translation Research works to foster a multi-disciplinary scientific mindset to encourage collaboration between disciplines. The successful candidate will work with Investigators and the research team in providing essential support of RecruitMe and the CTO. |
