Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Nursing/Advanced Practice Director and in collaboration with attending physicians, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide comprehensive care to patients in the outpatient Leukemia practice. The NP will participate in the evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with hematologic malignancies and will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including bone marrow biopsies, under a collaborative practice agreement and within the scope of practice.
The NP will obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, review laboratory and diagnostic results, develop and manage treatment plans, and provide patient education and follow-up care. The NP will also obtain informed consent, monitor patients before and after procedures, coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and serve as a liaison to referring physicians and external providers.
