The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in a very busy Echocardiography practice at The One.
Responsibilities
- The NP will provide direct patient care and be responsible for the performance of echo stress testing at practices located in Westchester.
- Performing complete patient history and physical, reviewing laboratory tests, starting IV access, administering medications and contrast agents for stress testing under a physician’s supervision.
- The NP will also be responsible for counseling and educating patients and their caregivers on disease processes and care management.
- The NP is required to document all patient/caregiver encounters in the Epic EMR.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master's degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, plus one to two years of related experience.
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
- NP board certification or ANCC Board Certification in Acute Care.
- Eligible for BCLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous NP experience a plus.
- Experience in cardiology a plus.
- Familiarity with CUIMC/NYP.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to work a 5-day work week.
- Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills required.
- Familiarity and proficiency with computer-based programs such as electronic medical records systems, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
- Participation in Medical Surveillance required.
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
- Wear N-95 respirator
- Must successfully compliance and systems training requirements.
