Position Summary
The Lamont Mechanic Trainee works alongside a Lamont Mechanic and/or Lamont Assistant Mechanic while being trained to perform maintenance and repair functions at Lamont set forth in the Lamont Mechanic job description. Pursuant to training, the Lamont Mechanic Trainee is expected to perform tasks with minimal supervision, and work independently on tasks for which he/she has been trained.
Responsibilities
The Lamont Mechanic Trainee will assist in all maintenance and repair functions, including grounds keeping, snow and ice removal, general construction, utility repairs, heavy cleaning, and related duties as assigned.
Handles and transports on-campus universal waste to central storage area for disposal. Must successfully complete required safety and regulatory compliance training, and conform to all requirements on the job.
Must report to work and work overtime as directed by supervisory staff to support emergency operations including, but not limited to, snow removal.
Performs other duties as assigned.
