The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the research administrative coordination and report directly to the Division Administrator within the Department of Surgery.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process grant, contract, and subcontract proposals.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities related to grants and contracts and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate sponsored project setup and budget line items per award notice on all grants and contracts, including reconciling and analyzing financial activity on sponsored projects.
  • Prepare and maintain faculty biosketches to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with sponsor guidelines.
  • Monitor departmental compliance with conflict-of-interest disclosures and other required training and certification requirements.
  • Attend Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) meetings and forums to maintain current knowledge of grants administration and emerging changes to federal grant rules and processes.
  • Coordinate the annual effort reporting compliance and certification process.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings with Principal Investigators to review grant submissions and funding activity.
  • Coordinate post-award activities and project close-out requirements as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to urgent financial transaction requests and resolve routine issues.
  • Perform other departmental administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of related experience.

  • The ability to take initiative and work independently is required. 
  • Good interpersonal skills are highly important.
