Position Summary
The Institute of Comparative Medicine (ICM) clinical veterinarian is an integral and highly regarded component of the biomedical research effort at Columbia University. This individual works closely with veterinary, medical and research specialists as part of a multi- disciplinary team managing various animal species in a biomedical environment. The clinical veterinarian's role encompasses veterinary care of multiple species and ensures that systems and processes meet standards established by ICM administration. The incumbent will be involved in the management of research projects to ensure alignment of research activities and regulatory standards. The incumbent will assure that all tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner while adhering to applicable federal agency and Columbia University policies and procedures. This individual maintains performance levels consistent with and according to Columbia University ICM standards.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited institution or a BVSc; licensed to practice veterinary medicine in NY and have training or experience in laboratory animal medicine. ACLAM certification or board eligibility is required.
