Position Summary
The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) serves as a centralized resource for addressing all reports of discrimination and discriminatory harassment, including reports that involve alleged violations of Title VI and Title VII, reports that involve alleged violations of Title IX and the University’s Gender Based Misconduct Policy, as well as reports that relate to violations of the Protection of Minors Policy. The Office is responsible for reviewing, investigating and managing all incidents from inception through resolution whether the Respondent is a student, faculty, staff member or affiliate.
Reporting to the Director of Investigations, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for faculty and staff anti- discrimination and discriminatory harassment division, the Associate Director is responsible for investigating and resolving complaints of protected class discrimination and harassment, retaliation, sex-based harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking and domestic and dating violence, filed against students, employees, faculty, administrators, and third-party affiliates.
Through the applicable policies and procedures for faculty, staff and students, the University provides the means to address discrimination, harassment, sexual and related misconduct, including gender-based harassment, sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, stalking and sexual exploitation. These offices are responsible for ensuring compliance under these policies and with federal, state and local laws regarding Title VI, Title VII and Title IX.

Case Managers are knowledgeable in the policies governed by OIE, and serve as a neutral resource to help parties understand their rights within the scope and parameters of policies. Case Managers are cross-trained professionals who work with parties through a trauma-informed lens and collaborate with campus partners to help navigate a variety of challenges by making the appropriate referrals for individuals to receive additional outreach and intervention. |
