The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director, Recruitment and Yield supports in planning, developing, and implementing recruitment and yield initiatives to meet targeted enrollment goals across all current and future degree programs of Columbia Business School, with a primary focus on the full-time MBA, inclusive of dual degree programs, and deferred enrollment. The Assistant Director helps to attract and admit a high-caliber, diverse student body that reflects the School’s values and academic standards.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Yield Management

  • Support the execution of recruitment and yield activities for full-time and early career programs, including managing events in Slate and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Represent Columbia Business School at on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events.

  • Implement communications strategy in Slate to prospective and admitted students from the initial point of inquiry through matriculation, supporting them throughout the application process and preparing them for their arrival.

  • Liaise with the Hermes Society, a selective group of second-year MBA student leaders who serve as representatives of the Office of Admissions and the Columbia Business School student body 

Application Review & Evaluation

  • Read and evaluate applications to Columbia Business School, providing comprehensive feedback and a recommendation for next steps in the admission evaluation process.

  • Conduct applicant interviews and provide recommendations for admission decisions.

  • Assesses waitlisted applications and serves as an ongoing resource for applicants on the waitlist.

Outreach & Peer Engagement

  • Participate in occasional travel (domestic and international) to support recruitment and outreach efforts aligned with the School’s admissions goals.

Other Duties

  • Perform other relevant responsibilities as assigned to support the admissions team’s goals and operational needs.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience. 

  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Ability to balance independent delivery of work with collaborative orientation. Candidate must possess strong skills in communication (verbal and written), diplomacy, tact, and discretion and outstanding interpersonal/relationship management.

  • Knowledge of, and experience using, technology and tools, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Slate and/or CRM tools a plus.

  • Basic data analytics capability.

  • Must live within commuting distance to New York City and have ability to work in person in a hybrid work environment.

  • Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work select evenings and weekends as required.
