Position Summary
The Music Education Coordinator will co-facilitate two parent/child prevention groups and one elementary school-based group per week using the CARING prevention model for preschool and elementary school. The CARING prevention model approach is psychoeducation through the creative arts. Group participants engage in musical activities that address socialization, emotional communication and problem solving. Each group will be offered weekly for 15 weeks during the Fall and 15 weeks during the Spring semesters for a total of 30 weeks/year. The music education coordinator is responsible for structuring the child prevention sessions based on the CARING prevention manuals. They will maintain all data such as attendance, taking notes on participant engagement, and obtaining consents. Weekly notes and weekly supervision with CARING’s Project Coordinator will be part of 15 -hour weekly schedule.
