Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Variable Hours Officer to join our Heart Failure Research Institute at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a collaborative hospital setting, working closely with Weill Cornell and Columbia physicians, research scholars, and our experienced biostatistician.


Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of clinical and research projects, primarily focused on heart failure
  • Collaborate with researchers to develop statistical analysis plans
  • Assist in study design for new projects
  • Perform statistical analyses and prepare reports/summaries
  • Support database development to streamline data analysis workflows
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned/needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Biostatistics or Statistics or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD degree in Biostatistics (or currently enrolled in a relevant graduate program)
  • Experience in REDCap 
  • Experience working with PHI
  • Knowledge of regression and survival analysis techniques   
  • Familiarity with medical terminology

Other Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
