Position Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology has multiple vacancies in one of our laboratories.The candidates will conduct and assist with research on genotyping and ERG test under the supervision of senior staff, with the opportunity to develop and implement independent research projects. These projects will include molecular, cell biological, tissue culture, and animal handling techniques. The candidates will also be responsible for managing the lab, including but not limited to ordering and managing supplies, maintaining the lab space, assisting with the development and carrying out of standard lab procedures and protocols, and preparing reagents; as well as performing other related duties as assigned.


  • CRISPR genome engineering of Patients specific stem cells
  • Manage mouse colonies and recording keeping
  • Maintain lab supplies
  • Schedule patients for study
  • Compose clinic reports
  • Administration duties related to manuscript/grant application
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Require a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Laboratory experience outside of undergraduate laboratory coursework.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience genotyping is required.  
  • Six months of experience in cell culture and genotyping is desirable, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks/projects at once and keeping up-to-date records on projects, invoices, orders, etc.
