Position Summary
The Center for Infection and Immunity (CII) – one of the world’s most advanced academic centers for research in disease surveillance, diagnosis and discovery is seeking a candidate for a Technician B position. The candidate will report to the Principal Investigator and apply experience and expertise in the application of molecular biological diagnostic techniques in projects focused on microbial surveillance, discovery and pathogenesis. The candidate will carry out fully planned experiments involving serology, PCR, cDNA cloning, DNA and RNA extraction from tissue and microorganisms, and preparation of templates for DNA sequencing. The candidate will assist in organizing large datasets of microbial sequences obtained from high throughput sequencing and maintain detailed records of the work. S/he will assist other research personnel, assist with lab maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.
