Position Summary
The Center for Radiological Research is seeking a technician to work with scientists studying the health hazards and antimicrobial efficacy of ultraviolet light. The technician will focus on supporting the physics and engineering aspects of experiments. Research areas include radiation physics, radiation dosimetry and spectrometry, aerosol physics, optics, image processing, and data analysis. Some programming experience would be preferred, especially if it is relevant to image processing, data acquisition, or instrumentation control. The technician will join a diverse team of biologists, physicists, and engineers, and should be comfortable with working in a biomedical research environment.
The primary work location will be at the Radiological Research Accelerator Facility at the Columbia University Nevis Laboratories in Irvington, NY. Occasional work at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center may be required.
