Position Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology of Columbia University’s Medical Center has a grant-funded Technician B position available. Our research focuses on the effect of anesthetic agents on mouse brain and heart mitochondria.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related sciences or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience with brain and heart tissue collection, mitochondrial isolation, enzyme activity assays, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, light and fluorescence microscopy are desired.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and develop and learn new techniques as required for these studies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree is preferred.
Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques is preferred.
A minimum of five years related experience is preferred.
