Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Marks', Chair and Principal Investigator, in the Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Technician B.
The successful candidate will be responsible for studying the calcium channel known as the ryanodine receptor (RyR) both in vitro and in vivo. Experiments will include protein biochemistry and purification, molecular modeling, analyzing protein-protein interactions, and studying the effect of biochemical modifications on RyR channel activity. Abnormal calcium handling has been implicated in several diseases and one of the candidate’s primary duties will be to investigate the role of RyR in pathophysiology using several unique animal models.
