Position Summary
The incumbent will work in a busy Histology Laboratory in Anatomic Pathology. The following duties and responsibilities will be assigned to this individual: pick up cassettes from gross room while reconciling a processing log to ensure all cassettes are accounted for; loading and unloading tissues processors; operate and perform general maintenance on laboratory equipment including the tissue processors, cover slipper, and chemical recycler; triage routine and non-routine daily histology work, matching working drafts to related slides and requisitions; prepare simple chemical solutions and reagents in accordance to protocols. This position requires some heavy lifting and inventory of supplies. Other related duties pertaining to the proper functioning of the laboratory.
