Position Summary
The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology CCTI is looking for a technician to work in the Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory on the T cell responses in the context of viral infections (including COVID-19) and cell-based immunotherapy of cancer.
The technician will work with PIs and post-doctoral fellows but will be expected to take on supervised projects and responsibility for sample processing, tissue cultures and assays. These will be rewarded with ownership of projects as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Performing assays and prepare solutions according to detailed instructions

Set up equipment for experiments, maintain cell cultures and perform functional studies using flow cytometry and other techniques
- Carry out fully planned experiments and keep records of results

Assist with collection, processing, and cryopreservation of samples for experimental or diagnostic purpose
- Order and maintain laboratory supplies

Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and research
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience

Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations
- Ability to organize experiments in standard form and record data in a scientific notebook

Ability to learn and adapt to new techniques
