Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Performing assays and prepare solutions according to detailed instructions
• Set up equipment for experiments, maintain cell cultures and perform functional studies using flow cytometry and other techniques
• Carry out fully planned experiments and keep records of results
• Assist with collection, processing, and cryopreservation of samples for experimental or diagnostic purpose
• Order and maintain laboratory supplies
• Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and research

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience
• Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations
• Ability to organize experiments in standard form and record data in a scientific notebook
• Ability to learn and adapt to new techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemistry, biology or physics and various related laboratory procedures and techniques
• Knowledge of experimental materials and standardization
• Exposure to experimental procedures, laboratory equipment and/or working with animals
• Familiarity with computerized operations

Other Requirements

• The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
• Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
• Participation in the medical surveillance program
• Ability to work with laboratory animals
• Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
