Position Summary

The Department of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Student Research Worker to work on three externally funded projects, including funding from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality focused on documentation burden and the National Institute for Nursing Research (NINR) for the development, implementation and evaluation of a Clinical Decision Support (CDS) SmartApp and the integration of clinical trials software with the EHR using Smart on FHIR.  

Subject to business needs, we may support flexible and hybrid work arrangements. Options will be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects as a project coordinator or project manager
• Work cross-functionally as part of a team, as well as an individual contributor and perform tasks according to the directions of faculty researchers and lead project management planning
• Work closely with our Columbia and site investigators, Drs. Rossetti and Cato and  data engineer, and trainees to coordinate tasks within and between sites and track to project milestones and deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics or related field.
• Strong project coordination and communication skills as well as exposure to research methods, programming and/or clinical informatics.

Other Requirements

• Must demonstrate strong writing skills, strong interpersonal skills as required to be part of a collaborative, team-based effort
• A self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and who can play a major role in initiating new projects and help to bring several projects to completion.
• Related experience in technology, information management, clinical trials, qualitative methods, relational database design and development, and/or data mining or statistics, including programming, managing and maintaining data systems.
