Position Summary
The School of Nursing is looking to hire five (5) Student Workers to work on a study to develop and test the initial impact of a sleep intervention with children ages 7 – 11. Most of the duties will occur after school hours (i.e., 3 – 6 PM), with some office work during this time as well.
Responsibilities
Specific tasks for this position entail:
- Photocopying study materials;
- Describing the study to children and their caregivers, and obtain consent/assent;
- Interviewing children and their caregivers in person and/or by phone, or Zoom; and
- Entering data.
This position will last up to 12 months, and the hours will vary depending on the individual's availability.
This is a temporary position with a flexible work schedule.
This is a grant funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to present information to groups of children (i.e., make classroom presentations)
- Ability to work afternoons and evenings a few days a week
- Ability to work some nights/weekends to follow up with families
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, psychology, public health, or related field
- Experience working with children preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
