Position Summary
The Student Engagement Coordinator will work in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health, which includes the units of Student Support and Student Engagement. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Student Affairs, they will be part of a high-performing, dynamic team tasked with ensuring a high-quality experience for students in all OSA areas, with a focus on Student Organizations. The Student Engagement Coordinator will be the direct lead contact and advisor for student leaders, helping them execute programing, events, and logistical details essential to student life. The coordinator should be creative about ways to reimagine, redesign, and simplify the ways in which students engage and develop programming.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
The successful incumbent will have experience in higher education, preferably with graduate students. They must be computer literate, with a solid background in Microsoft Office 365. The coordinator must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. They will be able to set goals and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and work successfully under pressure, as a member of a team, and independently. The individual in this role will be detail-oriented and exhibit excellent judgment and discretion, while always maintaining confidentiality.
