Position Summary
The Senior Technician will seek to understand how tissues coordinate with the immune system to defend against pathogens; and work with cell culture systems, animal models, and fresh human tissue samples obtained from organ donors in collaboration with the Farbe Lab as part of a novel initiative in Human Tissue Immunity and Disease.
Responsibilities
Perform molecular biology experiments (Cloning, PCR, etc.).
Perform cell culture experiments and microscopy.
Maintenance of lab stocks/quality control.
Management of mouse colony (genotyping, breeding etc.)
Lab ordering and assisting in setting up and maintaining equipment.
Analyze data and assist in communicating data in scientific formats.
Assisting with general lab maintenance.
Train lower-level techs and students in basic techniques.
Willing to learn more complex experiments such as single-cell RNA sequencing.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience handling mice.
Knowledge of biosafety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microbiology (bacteria streaking etc.).
Experience with cell culture.
