Position Summary

We are in search of a highly organized and motivated Research Coordinator for Shared Resources at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. This individual will report to the Assistant Director of Shared Resources and will support the day-to-day operations.  Ideally, this individual will have previous experience working in a lab, some knowledge of PeopleSoft systems software, and some finance knowledge.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

FINANCE

• Ordering supplies, getting vendor quotes, reconciling P-card transactions, depositing checks, billing external vendors, work closely with AP to resolve payment issues, ensure all the invoices are processed and paid, generate requisitions, purchase orders, process travel & business expense forms, and be detail-oriented.

LAB

• Work with EHS to clear rooms and equipment, help with lab movements, maintain equipment, interact with vendors and contractors.

SHARED RESOURCES

• Interact with core directors, help move their work forward and support their needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 2 years of related work experience 

Other Requirements

• Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of basic chemical and/or biological terminology
• Knowledge of more sophisticated laboratory equipment
• Knowledge of computer operations or specific background in computer operations
• Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations
• Ability to be flexible and perform ad-hoc tasks.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs
• Advanced skill level in Excel
• Comfortable navigating PeopleSoft ERP systems, CUMC cash modules, and iLab software
• Must be prepared to commit at least 2 years
