Position Summary

We are hiring a research assistant  to oversee various logistical components of a longitudinal study of exceptional aging. The Visit Coordinator will work closely with field staff who travel to various parts of the country in order to evaluate adults from long-lived families.

Responsibilities

• The Visit Coordinator will be responsible for organizing all aspects of the visit including: 1) arranging field staff travel (rental car, flight, hotel); 2) arranging and monitoring all FedEx shipments following blood draws; 3) scheduling phlebotomy services; 4) preparing and mailing pre-visit packets; 5) arranging long distance visits with other field centers; 6) complying with Columbia travel-related policies and COVID-19 guidelines; and 7) working closely with financial advisors to reconcile all local and long-distance trips.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates who can offer a two-year commitment and who have had previous research experience are preferred.
