Position Summary

A talented Research Assistant is needed for performing high-impact Alzheimer’s disease research. The individual must possess prior experience with molecular biology techniques, and a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to learn on the job. The individual will possess a great deal of responsibility in the lab, including experiments, purchasing, and general lab oversight and organization.



Responsibilities

  • Cell culture work using primary mouse cells
  • Cryostat sectioning and immunohistochemistry on brain sections from transgenic mouse lines
  • Microscopy to characterize and quantify both immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry results
  • Single-nucleus and spatial RNA-sequencing sample processing

 

 


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with biological terminology and techniques
  • Experience performing general molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, qPCR, cell culture, and immunohistochemistry
  • Proficiency at keeping records in an orderly fashion
  • Highly Self-motivated, with a personal desire to perform experiments well and obtain clear results
