Reporting to CIO, The technologist will work closely with the Director of Radiology (DR) to establish the expected service levels and functionality. Technologist will take direct guidance from the Clinical Systems Administrator for daily activities in cooperation with DR.

Technologist will coordinate with desktop and server teams of CUIMC-IT and Facilities team for hardware and software issues to provide integrated support to the providers and users. Technologist will learn all CDM PACs and integration technologies and provide backup system administration for these systems. Technologist will learn the workflows and normal operation procedures for all radiological hardware and software used at CDM.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day operational onsite support for Clinical Imaging solutions and PACS applications in a rapidly changing environment
  • Interface between the CDM users and the various divisions of IT, Facilities and Radiology
  • Application troubleshooting, installation, and testing
  • Triage network/workstation/hardware related issues
  • Coordinate modifications and updates to the PACS application and the other applications/systems provided and or supported by the Clinical Systems Administrator
  • Provide advanced application troubleshooting support for systems/applications provided and or supported by the Clinical Systems Administrator
  • Recommend improvements and increase efficiency of the PACS and the other systems/applications provided and or supported by the Clinical Systems Administrator
  • Assist with coordination of vendor activities including hardware and software installation
  • Test new systems, version upgrades, interfaces, and other system modifications
  • Provide pro-active monitoring of the user facing applications/systems
  • Provide on-call coverage for user support on scheduled basis

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of related experience. 
  • IT experience in patient care settings / medical centers / healthcare
  • Strong technical skills; strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Eager to learn; exceptional listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as part of a larger team
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field
  • Experience with Dental system and technology
  • Customer service skills & experience with ServiceNow
