Position Summary
The Susan Lasker Brody Center for Population Mental Health (Brody Center) at the Mailman School of Public Health (Columbia Mailman) aims to use a comprehensive public health approach to improve how mental health is understood, researched, and addressed in the United States. Our mission is to combine innovation, advocacy, and training to generate evidence-based, prevention-focused interventions and develop the next generation of population mental health leaders.
Position Description
The Brody Center seeks a Project Director to provide operational coordination and administrative oversight for all activities, including managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with administrators and external partners, and supporting grant preparation and compliance. Candidates should have expertise in project management, public health research administration, or a related field, with experience coordinating large-scale initiatives. Successful candidates will have opportunities to interact and collaborate with faculty and researchers across Columbia Mailman’s six departments; thus, an interest in interdisciplinary research is preferred. The candidate will work directly with the Director of the Brody Center, Core and Lead faculty within the Brody Center, the Community Advisory Boards, and Columbia Mailman administrators. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or equivalent in training, education, and/or experience.
• At least two years of experience in a program manager/project director role.
• Ability to work well and flexibly with teams of investigators.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and extremely detail oriented.
• High-level interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
