Position Summary
Columbia Primary Care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CIUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The Primary Care Nurse II will report directly to the Director of Nursing, Columbia Primary Care. This ambulatory nursing position will serve as a key member of the patient care team to support the pediatric and/or adult populations we serve. The Primary Care Nurse II performs nursing duties consistent with the NYS nursing scope of practice related to the support of the day-to-day clinical operations of the assigned practice. These duties include, but are not limited to, medication/immunization administration, point of care testing (POCT), clinical information abstraction, maintenance of infection prevention and control procedures, and patient education that can be in person, via our patient portal, or by phone. This experienced RN will perform telephonic, electronic, and in-person nursing assessments consistent with the NYS nursing scope of practice. The Primary Care Nurse II will also work on population health initiatives within Columbia Primary Care to address healthcare gaps and promote positive health outcomes for the patients of the assigned practice(s). The Primary Care Nurse II will work closely with multiple providers as well as other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an excellent patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of kindness, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
