Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a full-time position to work within the division of Molecular Genetics. Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical trials including IRB submissions and maintaining regulatory documentation.
  • Perform research-related nursing tasks including performing physicals, ordering tests/labs, phlebotomy, EKGs and vital signs.
  • Coordinate clinical follow-up for study participants.
  • Respond to clinical questions and requests from study participants.
  • Maintain required clinical documentation in Epic.
  • Conduct all clinical research activities in accordance with study protocol; work closely with the PIs to ensure compliance, and reporting of adverse events.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent in education and experience; plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children and adults. 
  • Bilingual Spanish. 

Other Requirements

  • NYS NP License, maintain and renew when necessary. (NP’s are required to have a NYS license to qualify for the position).
  • New York State RN License.
  • NP Board Certification.
  • DEA license.
  • BCLS and ACLS certification.
