Position Summary
The primary role of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is to work collaboratively with the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization team. The NP serves as clinical coordinator. The NP facilitates the approval process with insurance plans. The NP will render direct patient care during outpatient office hours including but not limited to, obtaining patients' history, performing comprehensive and targeted physical examinations, ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests, and diagnosing/managing chronic as well as acute patient problems. The NP will be responsible for counseling/educating patients and their caregivers about the procedure, potential risks, and post-procedure care. The provider will be engaged in all aspects of patients' clinical care and work with other members of the care team to provide seamless care across all venues including outpatient, inpatient and clinical research venues. The NP is involved in indirect patient activities with the goal of improving the quality of care. The NP is expected to participate in team meetings and monthly multidisciplinary meetings.
The ideal candidate will bring a positive and caring attitude, excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and previous experience in a fast-paced practice or hospital setting.
