Position Summary

We are an innovative, collaborative, interdisciplinary research entity looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, equity-driven, and enthusiastic candidate to support the patient-oriented research portfolio of the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health (CBCH). We anticipate developing new studies and research directions, so ideal candidates will be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities, workloads and work schedules.

The short-term casual employee will assist in the day-to-day operations of a novel program of research focusing on implementation of interventional pilot studies in patients experiencing acute medical events, including but not limited to, heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrest. The short-term casual will assist in the completion of daily project activities including, recruitment and enrollment procedures, administration of questionnaires and study devices, data collection, database creation and maintenance, and tracking study data.

  • Recruit, enroll and obtain informed consent of study participants
  • Administer of standardized questionnaires (some with sensitive questions)
  • Conduct follow-up interviews or sub-study visits on-site and remotely
  • Utilize electronic monitoring devices and data collection tools
  • Organize and maintain participant records and case report forms (CRFs)
  • Perform data entry and cleaning
  • Facilitate participant compensation through the PayCard payment program
  • Maintain research supply inventory and general equipment upkeep
  • Collect high-quality research data through analysis of issues associated with the administering of questionnaires, utilization of devices, and assessment of the degree of participant burden through frequent, formal and informal communication with investigators
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and requested

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus one year of related experience
  • Must speak Spanish fluently
  • Ability to work flexible hours (shifts between 7:00 am -8:30 pm) and to adapt to flexible work environments (office, clinical area, remote)
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in workload/work hours to meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent phone, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a diverse and demanding environment with frequently shifting priorities
  • Proactive, extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong record of interpersonal engagement
  • Ability to balance both working independently and collaboratively
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Other Requirements

  • Participation in the medical surveillance program
    • Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
