The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Commencement Coordinator (Short-Term Casual) will support the Commencement Team in the Office of the President on assigned administrative needs for the annual Commencement ceremony.


  • Provides administrative support related to events (excel list management, nametag development, inventory of supplies, printing and sorting materials, etc.)
  • Provide Commencement Day planning and coordination support including onsite arrangements
  • Makes deliveries and pick-ups to/from other CU departments as needed in addition to managing pick-ups from University affiliates
  • Organize Commencement Day preparatory materials, including volunteer gear, printouts, gift bags and staff binders
  • Ensure meeting and event spaces are properly set up, clean and organized
  • Assist in some volunteer recruitment and management
  • Collaborate with several University contacts and facilities on commencement week signage needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalency required 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexibility for early or evening hours
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, web sites, and creating/updating databases
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle themselves in a professional manner at all times
  • Must be responsible and dependable (i.e., report to work and/or events as scheduled)
