Position Summary
Nevis Laboratories of Columbia University, located in Irvington, NY, is searching for a full-time Electronics Technician to support our scientific staff of physicists developing electronics instrumentation for high energy physics experiments. The Electronics Technician will be responsible for assembling, repairing and modifying electronic equipment, parts, components and systems, and must have excellent soldering and technical skills. This position will be working on multiple projects simultaneously and requires excellent organizational and time management skills.
**This is a five-year, grant-funded position with the possibility of extension if additional funds are secured.**
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience required.
2 years of relevant experience in a research environment.
Other Requirements
Extensive mechanical skills for electronics shop requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft office, advanced excel skills.
