Job Summary

Dental Assistants are responsible for providing first in class service to patients, residents, faculty, and all other Columbia personnel.

Responsibilities

The Dental Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Assisting at chair side as required
• Aiding in preparation and maintenance of materials, instruments and equipment
• Dental Assistants pull and file patient charts
• Maintain student and patient records
• Order and dispense supplies and instruments
• Make and confirm appointments
• Provide cross coverage for dental assistant module areas and radiology.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two years of college or a completed A.A. program plus formal training in four handed, sit-down dental assisting and six months of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a dental office and dental x-rays.
• Graduation from a NY State approved dental assistant program.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish/English), including translation.
