Position Summary
The New York Obesity Research Center in the Division of Endocrinology is seeking a Clinical Research Manager with a current RN license to be responsible for the day-to-day activities of clinical research projects involving diabetes prevention and outcomes studies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the collection and evaluation of study data and ensure project goals are met
- Coordinate lifestyle intervention groups
- Perform medical monitoring and provide pre-diabetes and diabetes counseling
- Conduct participant screening, recruitment, and obtain consent and medical history
- Coordinate study visit evaluations and procedures
- Deliver standardized questionnaire material
- Conduct physiological assessments during laboratory protocols and provide participant monitoring
- Maintain study related records (paper and electronic) and perform medical chart extraction according to standard medical history
- Collaborate with members of the research team in IRB regulatory submissions, research data collection and entry, and database management
- Manage participant stipend distribution
- Supervise and train study personnel
- Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience
- Current New York State RN license
- Clinical research experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Well organized, self-starter
- Ability to establish priorities and a course of action for managing several activities at once while observing deadlines
Other Requirements
- Participation in the medical surveillance program
- Contact with patients and/or human subjects
- Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
