Position Summary

The New York Obesity Research Center in the Division of Endocrinology is seeking a Clinical Research Manager with a current RN license to be responsible for the day-to-day activities of clinical research projects involving diabetes prevention and outcomes studies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the collection and evaluation of study data and ensure project goals are met
• Coordinate lifestyle intervention groups
• Perform medical monitoring and provide pre-diabetes and diabetes counseling
• Conduct participant screening, recruitment, and obtain consent and medical history
• Coordinate study visit evaluations and procedures
• Deliver standardized questionnaire material
• Conduct physiological assessments during laboratory protocols and provide participant monitoring
• Maintain study related records (paper and electronic) and perform medical chart extraction according to standard medical history
• Collaborate with members of the research team in IRB regulatory submissions, research data collection and entry, and database management
• Manage participant stipend distribution
• Supervise and train study personnel
• Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience
• Current New York State RN license
• Clinical research experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Well organized, self-starter
• Ability to establish priorities and a course of action for managing several activities at once while observing deadlines

Other Requirements

• Participation in the medical surveillance program
• Contact with patients and/or human subjects
• Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
• Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
