The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Facilitate screening, enrollment, and treatment of research subjects in current clinical research projects in the Columbia University Irving Medial Center Lung Transplant Program.


  • Facilitate screening, enrollment, and treatment of research subjects in compliance with established regulations and guidelines and internal standard operating procedures.
  • Recruit and consent patients in accordance with clinical research protocols.
  • Perform study visits and follow up with active participants
  • Coordinate specimen collection, processing, storage and shipping.
  • Collect and record study data; maintain accurate source documents.
  • Perform data entry into the electronic data capture platforms and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with eligibility assessment and obtain written informed consent as appropriate.
  • Assist with regulatory submissions including protocol review and monitoring.
  • Facilitate communication in an effective manner with clinical staff, study sponsors, patients, and other study-related members.
  • Assists with short term projects and provides cross-coverage to various research team members as needed.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in training and experience, plus two years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish language skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record platforms such as EPIC and electronic data capturing systems such as REDCap

Other Requirements

  • Participation in the medical surveillance program due to contact with patients and/or human research subjects
