Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief of Peds Division & Divisional Leadership, the Ped’s the Clinical Research Coordinator (AI) will be responsible for coordinating clinical research data collection and management for statistical modeling and computational analysis, including identifying, screening, consenting, and tracking of patients.


Responsibilities

  • Primary job functions include coordinating clinical research data collection and management for statistical modeling and computational analysis, including identifying, screening, consenting, and tracking of patients.
  • Will coordinate data collection, including, but not limited to, radiographic imaging, patient-reported outcome instruments, and physical evaluations and histories, and enter data into electronic data capture programs.
  • Will work closely with Pediatric Division attending’s, fellows, visiting fellows, residents, other research coordinators, and the Division Leadership.
  • Will assist with and independently perform statistical analysis and machine learning modeling on clinical cohorts, supporting data preprocessing, model development, validation, and interpretation to advance clinical research objectives within the Pediatric Division.
  • Will assist with hypothesis generation, protocol, and med consent creation.
  • IRB/IACUC submission, applying for funding, consenting participants, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation and submission, and presentation of findings.
  • Will maintain up-to-date knowledge of FDA, HIPAA, and ICH-GCP regulations, as well as IRB/IACUC/SPA/SPF policies.
  • Attend and participate in departmental research-related meetings.
  • In conjunction with other team members, will assist with the writing, submission, and management of grants and other research funding in the Peds Division.
  • Works with other research team members to write and maintain IRBs for the Peds Division. Will attend IRB informational meetings and seminars as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

  • Woking knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in developing and coordinating, clinical research projects, with working knowledge of database management, spreadsheet, and statistical analysis software.

  • Proficiency in the Windows Operating environment and MS Word and Excel required

  • Excellent organization skills, communication, and interpersonal skills, attention to details, and the ability to work independently.

  • Capable of prioritizing, managing several projects at once, and taking responsibility for meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters’s degree in Computational Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and working knowledge of Python, Java, or similar coding software for analytical use.
  • Knowledge of the Columbia RASCAL system and IRB regulations, REDCap, EPIC and compliance issues is highly desired and/or special indicators in CUIMC

Other Requirements

  • Willing to work occasional evenings and weekend hours.
