Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Audio Visual, the Audio Visual/IT Assistant will assist with the daily operations of the AV/IT Offices at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
Responsibilities
Assists with the dissemination IT and AV policies to GSAPP population. Provides desktop support to the GSAPP community including faculty, students and administrators. The Audio Visual/IT Assistant will provide AV support for classes and events. Responsible for implementing systems that allow for presentations and communication of class materials without disruption including troubleshooting classroom and studio for technical issues. Will be responsible for recording/capturing evening lectures, events and exhibitions.
Oversees equipment reservations, check-in and check-out of the GSAPP AV equipment (cameras, DV cameras, laptops, projectors, etc.).
Assists the Director of IT and Assistant Director with financial tasks.
Working independently with minimal supervision, the incumbent works on evening lectures, events and exhibitions. The Assistant is expected to coordinate the work of student employees during these activities as well as use independent judgment to resolve difficulties and minimize disruptions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of three years of related experience. High School diploma or equivalent. Some evening and weekend work is required.
This position requires working knowledge of media production as well as industry best practices, technical and equipment maintenance, installation and troubleshooting. (AV and IT hardware and software systems). The software used by this position includes but is not limited to Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, Max/MSP, Photoshop, etc.
