Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Information Technology, the incumbent is responsible for strategic planning and development of all aspects of the audiovisual and video conference on-site and online/remote services operations at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and for managing access to and use of all electronic and non-electronic classrooms in the International Affairs Building (IAB) and affiliated spaces.
Responsibilities
Strategic planning and development of the audiovisual capabilities for new SIPA e-rooms and additional videoconferencing capabilities for faculty, administration and students at SIPA.
Overseeing and maintaining the equipment in all SIPA electronic classrooms and self-service rooms for daily, including weekend, use, and the conference rooms on the 15th floors; managing and deploying mobile AV equipment for use in three or more simultaneous events.
Researching, developing and maintaining audiovisual, teleconferencing and video conferencing capabilities for the labs, electronic classrooms, non e-rooms and event spaces in the International Affairs Building.
Providing training and overseeing the AV Coordinator in training SIPA faculty and teaching assistants in the use of SIPA electronic classrooms, and preparing training manuals and documentation for users and consultants.
Developing training documentation for the use of different equipment in the electronic classrooms, and for the web.
Developing online training videos for faculty and teaching assistants in the use of SIPA's AV e-podiums, and videoconferencing and video recording facilities.
Supervising the AV Coordinators in providing evening and weekend AV support for labs, e-rooms and non-e-rooms.
Training approximately 15+ student (work-study/casual) employees annually to provide AV support in the International Affairs Building.
Managing computer operations for the Audiovisual Center of the Picker Center for Executive Education. Duties include researching and identifying compatible equipment to work with the existing infrastructure, programming, configuring and upgrading the system and providing ongoing support.
Maintaining AV inventory; managing and troubleshooting AV related tickets in Kace.
Directing the AV Coordinators in providing billing data for audiovisual and video conference jobs.
Supporting new multimedia courses for SIPA's Technology, Media and Communications (TMAC) specialization. Duties include configuring hardware and software for use in the lab for these courses, researching and purchasing multimedia support equipment, such as cameras and audio recording units, managing distribution and training for these for use in TMAC courses, and supporting program assistants and other administrative users.
Assisting the CIO and Executive Director in creating electronic rooms for affiliated Institutes and Centers, and related projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Premier, Final Cut, Zoom, Polycom video conferencing and Extron equipment preferred.
