Position Summary
The Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs reports directly to the Associate Dean of Multicultural Affairs. Primary responsibilities include planning, overseeing, implementing, and evaluating the diversity education area of Multicultural Affairs (MA); development and management of office-wide programming; student organization advisement;. and individual support to students in their social, leadership, and identity development With the Associate Dean of Multicultural Affairs, the incumbent contributes to community education and supportive spaces following bias incidents that may impact undergraduate students.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required.
A minimum of three years of related experience in student affairs essential;
Strong knowledge of multicultural and social justice theories, student development theories, identity development theories, and/or community building required.
Excellent intercultural communication and facilitation skills as well as experience working with diverse student populations required.
*Frequent evening and weekend hours necessary.*

Preferred Qualifications
Masters in Student Personnel Administration or related field preferred.
Experience working in an urban setting preferred.
Strong experience with social media and graphic design is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in disability justice and in working with cultural organizations, international students, students of color, LGBTQA+ students, first-generation and/or low income students and diverse populations; as well as a substantive understanding of diversity and social identities as it relates to intersectionality.
