Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Admissions and Marketing, the
Assistant Director, Academic and Enrollment Management provides admissions operations
and data system administrative and development support and project management for
initiatives that span the school’s admissions and student services needs. This person will
serve as the primary Slate Captain for Columbia Climate School enrollment CRM system and
is responsible for its maintenance for each application cycle. The Assistant Director must
demonstrate a strong ability to plan and execute multiple projects with a keen sense of
detail and follow-up. The assistant director will be able to link and apply administrative
approaches and solution-oriented methods across all of their work and responsibilities.
They will demonstrate an ability to lead subprojects that emerge from larger initiatives with
a high level of self-direction in ways that are consistent with goals established by the Senior
Associate Dean. This person collaborates with a wide range of internal and external offices,
colleagues and stakeholders to fulfill their duties.


Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise and support in the development, management, and
    usage of systems, databases, reports and data for all Columbia Climate School
    enrollment efforts to recruit, admit and enroll students for both degree, non-degree
    and affiliate programs. Creates and maintains queries, rules, reports, and other CRM
    functionality. Implements and integrates applicant, student and course data systems
    and processes. Writes and maintains documentation for CRM front-end use and
    functional development. Leads the admissions operations efforts and monitors
    accuracy, timely delivery and loading of applications, credentials and prospects from
    internal sources and external vendors. Acts as a liaison to other systems for other
    Climate School populations as they intersect with the student life cycle.
  • Interfaces with students, faculty and staff regarding the use of data systems (Slate,
    SSOL, SIS, SDR, Enterprise Reporting/Business Intelligence reporting, Coursework)
    and related programs, events, and milestones.
  •  Provides organizational support to a wide range of Climate School populations, units,
    and committees in order to fulfill job duties.
  • Utilizes online tools to solicit feedback, collect and analyze data, and write and
    publish goals, milestones, and summary reports for a wide range of projects.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent required.
    Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience, including higher education admissions.
    Extensive experience with Technolutions Slate.
    Experience with a student information system (SIS).
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with willingness and ability to learn necessary
    software, systems, and technology such as SIS, SSOL, Stellic, Qualtrics, and Maxient.
    Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    Exceptional attention to detail, data analysis, process analysis, and organizational skills.
    Ability to work independently.
    Strong ability to plan and execute multiple projects with a keen sense of detail and follow-
    up.
    Strong collaborative orientation and ability to demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion,
    and diplomacy.
    Ability to maintain good customer relations with clients and external vendors and partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management within higher education.
    Knowledge of Columbia University offices, systems, and processes.
