Position Summary

The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons is seeking a new mid-career physician as Assistant Clinical Internist. This position will involve working at a large multi-specialty medical practice in Monroe, NY.

In this role, the Assistant Clinical Internist will participate in providing the highest level of care to patients.


Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Deliver exceptional, specialized patient care with consistently excellent outcomes.
  • Mentor junior colleagues, supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, including quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
  • Engage in continuing medical education (CME) and maintain relevant advanced certifications.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for complex cases and high-acuity patients.
  • Achieve and uphold high patient satisfaction scores.
  • Meet or surpass productivity targets.
  • Participate in call coverage for the group.
  • Maintain certification in noninvasive imaging.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree
  • 0-5 years post-training
  • Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Current New York State Medical License

Other Requirements

  • Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program
  • Successful and ongoing completion of compliance and systems training requirements
